Back in 2000, we pushed out the front wall of the house by 5 1/2 feet, and removed those horrid arches. The result was a much bigger kitchen with room for an actual family.

Then, in the fall of 2005, we started a major remodel of the whole house. It began by stripping everything down to the drywall in all the rooms but the kitchen. We added new doors, windows, trim, and retextured and painted it all. In the master bedroom, we ripped out the closet and bathroom, and moved them around for a much more practical arrangement.

The second half of the work was done in the winter and spring of 2006, where we added a new wing off the back of the house. The existing dining and family rooms moved out by seven feet, and connecting to a new wing with and office for Dave, a laundry room, and a large wreck room. Here's a little QuickTime tour through the addition part of the way through the work.
